Google Pay

The Google Pay Wallet offers customers an easy way to pay using a card saved to their Google Account.

Google Pay will be offered via our Hosted Payment Page (HPP), Lightbox as well as via API.

📘

In order for a customer to be able to use Google Pay, they will need to be logged into their Google Account and have saved a card to their Wallet.

Hosted Payment Page and Lightbox

Our Hosted Payment Pages provide the fastest way to accept Google Pay payments with minimal development effort. We handle the entire payment flow, including Google Pay button rendering, payment processing, and PCI compliance. The only thing that will need to be accommodated is the new Payment Service type (GooglePay) in the Transaction Notification as well as in the Recon file from the Payment Gateway.

To accept Google Pay payments, simply request that this payment method be enabled for your customers from our Product Support team.

API

For merchants who want full control over the checkout experience, our API integration allows you to embed the Google Pay button directly on your app or website.

How Google Pay works

  1. A customer selects the Google Pay button as a payment method.
  2. Google displays a payment sheet where a customer selects their preferred card payment method and confirms their purchase.
  3. Google returns an encrypted payment payload to the customer's device.
  4. The device will return the encrypted payload to the merchant.
  5. The merchant sends the encrypted payload on to the Ecentric Payment Gateway for processing.
